ISBT 128 Conversion Nearing Completion

In accordance with AABB’s mandated timeline for ISBT 128 implementation, Bonfils is ahead of schedule for completion in the first quarter of 2008 in advance of the May 1, 2008 timeline. This target is dependent upon receiving approval by FDA for Bonfils’ ISBT 128 product and DIN (Donor Identification Number) label(s) submission.

To date, Bonfils has achieved several project milestones including, implementation and project plan approval, DIN Label Set vendor selection, ISBT 128 printer and print server software vendor selection, preliminary assessment of ISBT 128 impact on internal departments, master validation plan approval, business software ISBT 128 validation and much more.

Bonfils is scheduled to submit ISBT 128 label(s) to the FDA for approval, provide label packets to hospital partners and revise internal operating procedures before the end of the year.

While we are hopeful for 1st Quarter 2008, the implementation date will be dependent upon FDA approval of our ISBT 128 labels. Bonfils will continue to communicate our progress to our hospital partners as information becomes available.
