National Blood Donor Month
Ski. Celebrate. Live. Give. Amidst skiing down the slopes, taking endless shopping trips and celebrating the new year with family and friends … be sure to take a little time to make a big difference this winter by giving blood.
Winter remains one of the most challenging seasons to maintain Colorado's community blood supply. Blood donations decrease up to 20 percent in the winter months due to seasonal activities, poor weather conditions and colds and flu, however, the need remains constant. Bonfils Blood Center commemorates National Blood Donor Month by encouraging the community to help reverse this trend by scheduling an appointment to give blood.
As a token of our appreciation, donors who give blood now through Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 will receive a cozy Bonfils Blood Center long-sleeved t-shirt. Call 303.363.2300, 800.365.0006, opt. 2 or visit www.bonfils.org to schedule an appointment to give blood and save lives. With nine community donor centers and as many as 13 mobile blood drives each day, there is sure to be a donation location near wherever your winter activities may take you.
National Blood Donor Month is also a time for Bonfils to recognize the more than 120,000 blood donors who make time throughout the year to make a difference in their community. Bonfils will host its annual appreciation reception on Jan. 10 to recognize 10-plus gallon donors, blood drive hosts, community partners and volunteers for their life-saving commitments.
9News is a proud supporter of National Blood Donor Month and Bonfils Blood Center.
